Cerberus braced its four limbs against the ground and slowly rose from the massive crater. The middle head was still a little dazed, shaking itself for a long while before regaining its senses.
Just as Russell had guessed, Charon had reported the matter of the Golden Bough to Hades, and Cerberus had come under orders.
But it had not come to investigate. Hades's order had been to leave no survivors.
There were many ways to leave no survivors—for instance, eating them. Those several Meat Buns were plump and dripping with fat, making Cerberus drool.
"Roar, roar, roar!!"
The middle head spat out its broken teeth, which quickly grew back. Cerberus threw back its heads and roared, then viciously pounced toward Russell.
The three heads activated their innate abilities, tightly holding flames, poisonous smoke, and black mist in their jaws, gathering power without releasing them immediately.
"I'll deal with this stupid dog. Take them farther away so they don't get caught in it." Russell waved his hand and summoned a Black Flame Greatsword, then floated toward Cerberus.
A'e said nothing more. She led the eight Meat Buns away from the danger zone while considering how to leave the Underworld.
Hades's attention meant Ferryman Charon would not appear as promised. If they wanted to cross the River Styx, they could only rely on themselves.
If that miraculous Pegasus, which seemed about to die from exhaustion at any moment but never actually did, were still here, this would not have been so troublesome. At worst, they could have made it tire itself out a few more times.
Unfortunately, they had been in a rush to return and save the day, so Perseus had ridden Pegasus away. They could only seek another way out.
Boom, boom, boom!!
The earth trembled as a deafening roar
