Mount Olympus!
The mountain was steep and lofty, magnificent and majestic, towering over the earth. As the center of the world, it was worshipped by people from all lands under the rule of the gods.
In Greek mythology, this sacred mountain meant "the place of light." Its status was comparable to the Heaven next door, and the gods, demigods, and their servants lived here.
It was roughly the same idea as Bright Peak.
The gods did not descend to the mortal world. The gods stood high above all others. Therefore, this mountain was very tall.
The ranges stretched endlessly, with snow-capped peaks and valleys shaded by lush trees. Whether it was dawn's first light or the cold moon after dusk, they had to spread across these mountains before they could descend upon the world.
This was the majesty of the gods, symbolizing their transcendent status. They built palaces atop the mountain and governed the world from here.
How well they governed was hard to say. After all, Zeus was away from home every few days, and whenever someone found him, he was often improperly dressed.
A gale swept up, and the sea of clouds parted on its own.
Zeus led Russell and A'e to the mountainside, waved open a passage, and flew for a while before stopping before a stone staircase.
The steps rose high into the sky. In the distance stood a grand hall supported by colonnades, as well as a splendid garden filled with exotic flowers and plants.
"We'll walk the rest of the way slowly."
"Why? Does the Divine Mountain have traffic restrictions too?"
Russell asked in confusion, then added, "You're the King of Gods. There's no reason for you to keep your head down even at your own front door."
