Before the people had even arrived, the gods showed up first.
It began after Russell defeated Poseidon. Instead of returning directly to the Divine Mountain, he took a lap around its entrance before heading straight back to the Sanctuary.
Afterward, for some unknown reason, Zeus chased Poseidon down and beat him mercilessly.
He showed no mercy. If Poseidon had not still been holding his trident, even Amphitrite probably would not have recognized him.
After watching the show, the gods cursed the Sun God's arrogance inwardly while plastering fake smiles across their faces. Some rode chariots, while others hitched rides on someone else's chariot, all racing toward the Sanctuary as fast as they could.
Every god had witnessed Russell's battle with Poseidon. They were stunned by how quickly Russell had risen to power, while also envying his Sun God Battle Armor, imagining how wonderful it would be if they had one too.
Then A'e, clad in the Ophiuchus Golden Cloth, borrowed the power of the twelve Golden Cloths and launched a reversal strike that drove Hades back.
Hades' retreat was not as humiliating as Poseidon's, but his divine body had still been damaged, and he had lost a great deal of face.
When he fled in panic, he looked utterly bewildered and disheveled.
When Russell defeated Poseidon, the gods had been mildly shocked, but they did not find it too strange. Naturally, they labeled him the Zeus family's number one enforcer on the Divine Mountain.
After all, Helios and Ares had already been defeated one after another. The buildup had been sufficient, so they could accept any greater commotion that followed.
But who the hell was A'e? What right did she have to make the King of the Underworld retreat in such a sorry state?
