Driving back to Prosperity Town as evening approached, Russell and Chris arrived at the mine, ready to arm the miners, only to find that there was no one there.

"Maybe they got off work early. It's not safe now, after all..." Chris comforted himself.

There was no one in the office. He called home, but no one answered. Just as he began worrying about Aunt Gladys, the announcer's voice came over the loudspeakers, calling on the town's residents to bring weapons and gather at the Shopping Center.

Russell's heart skipped a beat. The mine felt very different today, giving him an extremely dangerous feeling. Not daring to delay, he pulled Chris into the truck and headed straight for the Shopping Center.

Along the way, they saw many residents rushing toward the Shopping Center with their families. Samantha alone would not have been enough to mobilize everyone, but police cars kept driving into Prosperity Town one after another and setting up cordons. The residents had no choice but to believe it.

At the entrance to the Shopping Center, a row of flashing police cars had formed a line, blocking all incoming vehicles. The police were maintaining order, telling everyone to park their cars properly so they could serve as barricades and create a buffer zone.

Chris's pickup was stopped as well, but when Russell lifted the tarp in the truck bed and revealed the pile of guns and ammunition, they were waved through.

As soon as they parked, several officers came over, intending to requisition the weapons in the truck. Honestly, the weapons would certainly be more useful in the hands of police than miners, but guns and bullets did not fall from the sky. They could not just requisition them because they said so.
