Russell had originally intended to use Gandalf's Illumination Spell, turning himself into a human light source to illuminate the world. But then he remembered the Solar Flare Skill Card that had been sitting in his inventory for ages, so he decided to take it out for a spin.

This light was not that light. He did not know how lethal this move would be against creatures from hell, but there was no harm in trying. At worst, he could treat it like throwing a flashbang.

Ordinary people who had not seen sunlight for years would suffer all kinds of discomfort when suddenly exposed to intense light. The creatures that crawled out of that godforsaken place called hell had spent hundreds or even thousands of years dying at the sight of light. Maybe a little sunshine would kill them outright.

Besides, Angel's Power was truly running low. He had to conserve it where he could.

As he traveled through worlds, the angel persona often proved extremely useful. Healing and looking cool were one thing, but more importantly, it made it easy to establish his stance.
