"Huh, this box..."

Russell flew in from behind, slapped Bruce out of the way, and reached up to pull the metal cube from the concrete wall.

"Don't touch it, it could be a trap!"

Bruce hurriedly warned him, but he was still too late. As Russell's hands touched the edges of the cube, it was as if he had triggered a countdown switch. The patterns on its surface lit up, and the flashing light accelerated.

BOOM!

Flames shot into the sky, and the shockwave pulverized the surrounding concrete walls. Huge chunks of debris fell away, exposing the steel reinforcement within. Streams of fire surged out through the tunnel entrances and spread for dozens of meters before finally stopping.

After the explosion, the vast interior was left in ruins. The mottled walls crumbled at a touch, and the Parademon corpses littering the ground were completely buried.

Bruce emerged from one of the tunnels, his eyes sweeping over the area as he began searching for remnants of the explosion.

First, the two machines used to modify Parademons had been destroyed, shattered by the blast. Even the remaining fragments were blackened and warped.

Second, Russell...

Watching Russell fly out of the tunnel, Bruce instinctively sighed. The things that should have remained were gone, while the things that should not have remained were perfectly fine.

Having taken a point-blank explosion for no reason, Russell did not waste words. He lowered his head and rummaged through the rubble. Before long, with the aid of the Deathstroke Armor's scans, he dug out the completely intact metal cube.

A sharp glint flashed in Bruce's eyes. He had never expected the cube to remain undamaged after self-destructing. Or rather, no normal person would have expected that.

Whether Russell was a Silly Bird had nothing to do with it.
