Gone in a Single Exchange

DC had many superheroes, with all manner of character settings.

After all, superheroes needed their own defining traits. A generic face with nothing special would be classified as expendable, becoming refrigerator fodder for other superheroes' awakening.

Superman's Steel Body, Batman's Money Power, The Flash's reset button, Wonder Woman's long legs, Aquaman's wife, and so on were all reasons superheroes remained enduringly popular.

Their character settings stood out!

So the question was, what would happen when everyone's unique superpowers were brought together?

For example, forming a Justice League!

Thus, Batman, a mere mortal, tactically leaned back to evade Omega Ray, punched Darkseid flying, then returned to Gotham's streets to arrest lunatics.

But in truth, that statement was wrong. Veteran DC fans all knew that it was not the old master who dodged Omega Ray—it was Omega Ray that dodged the old master.

So, when Russell saw Omega Ray shooting toward Bruce and knew rescue would not arrive in time, he was not worried in the slightest. He knew Bruce would not be hit.

Sure enough, at the critical moment, Barry doubled back to Bruce's side, grabbed him, accelerated into a sprint, and charged straight toward the Parademons.

After more than a hundred Parademons had been sacrificed, Omega Ray's energy weakened. At that moment, Clark stepped forward and countered it with Heat Vision.

The four red beams faced off, and Heat Vision was utterly defeated!

Left with no choice, Clark used his pectorals to block Omega Ray yet again and was knocked to the ground once more.

Russell was deeply disappointed that he did not get to see Omega Ray spiral around Bruce in a full three-hundred-and-sixty-degree arc without landing a hit. Catching Diana sneaking closer to Darkseid with a longsword in hand from the corner of his eye, he decisively summoned
