"It should not be as simple as it appears. I suspect the Demon Clan's Chi You lineage is behind this..." Shen Luo continued via voice transmission.
After hearing Shen Luo's message, Lu Huaming recalled some of the instructions given by the Imperial Preceptor and his master, Cheng Yaojin, before their departure. A hesitant look appeared on his face.
After a moment, he raised a hand, signaling everyone to quiet down.
Only after the clamor in the central command tent had subsided did he look at Shen Luo and say:
"We can suspend the attack, but you cannot risk entering Qingqiu Kingdom to prove their innocence for them. They must prove their own innocence and give everyone an explanation."
The moment those words were spoken, objections erupted throughout the tent.
"Fellow Daoist Lu, although your Great Tang Government Office is leading this campaign against Qingqiu Kingdom, if you insist on issuing blind orders, I'm afraid we cannot obey." Seven Kills frowned and said coldly.
"The Qingqiu Fox Clan has never shown any intention of admitting its mistakes. If they truly wished to avoid war, they should prove their innocence themselves... Brother Shen, I fear all your painstaking efforts will be in vain." Jiang Shentian sighed.
"No. We have them cornered and hiding away, and the situation is looking excellent. How can we stop now? Wouldn't that give them a chance to catch their breath and organize their forces to counterattack us?" Elder Lu objected firmly.
Just as everyone was arguing, a rumbling sound suddenly came from outside the tent.
Shen Luo and the others' expressions changed. They hurriedly rushed out, only to see that the previously dim sky had turned crimson. Hundreds upon thousands of blazing fireballs shot toward them from the direction of the valley, like an erupting volcano.
