Shen Luo stared intently, unmoved. His ears twitched slightly, and the long blade in his hand swept horizontally to the right once more.
Clang!
Blade light burst forth, yet this time no bloody radiance appeared. Only a teeth-grinding screech of friction rang out.
Then, the blood mist ahead dispersed, and the white fox that had been cut in half vanished at once. Instead, beneath Shen Luo's blade stood a snow-white fox phantom, its claws shimmering with a glazed light as they clamped tightly onto the Minghong Saber's edge.
"Fellow Daoist Shen, your senses are quite keen. Even after Tu Shan Tong advanced to the Taiyi Realm, her illusions still could not affect you," the white fox formed by Misu said in amazement, staring at Shen Luo's eyes gleaming with a dim light.
"It is not that Tu Shan Tong's illusions are lacking. It is that your deception cannot blind my eyes." Shen Luo chuckled, then abruptly exerted force and swung his blade fiercely.
Misu was sent flying by the tremendous force. While airborne, she transformed back into human form and rapidly formed hand seals.
As she retreated, she smiled and said, "Did Fellow Daoist Shen think I only just discovered your trail? Hahaha..."
Misu's laughter echoed wantonly through the valley. Shen Luo frowned and looked down, only to discover that the ground had somehow become covered in slender white threads, as fine as ox hair. Each stood upright and straight, like steel needles.
It turned out that when they had first arrived near the pool, Misu had already secretly begun making preparations underground, merely waiting for whoever followed them to take the bait.
"Thousand Silk Origin Lock, bind!" Misu shouted sharply.
The next instant, countless white threads shot straight out from beneath the ground, wrapping around Shen Luo like silkworms
