Properties

Magic Power is an invisible energy permeating the air, earth, water, plants, and cultivators’ bodies. Shen Luo identifies it by comparing it to the vapor within a Yuan Stone and the aura emitted by immortal cultivators 66.

• It is stored primarily in the Dantian and circulated through meridians and acupoints.
• Spiritual energy absorbed from heaven and earth can be refined into Magic Power through cultivation arts 184.
• Its quantity, density, circulation speed, and responsiveness vary with cultivation realm, aptitude, physical condition, and the number of Magic Meridians.
• At the Great Vehicle Stage, Shen Luo’s Magic Power becomes nearly half-solid and gelatinous; his twenty Magic Meridians can collectively hold nearly ten times his Dantian’s capacity 367.

Magic Meridians

Magic Meridians are specialized channels that store and circulate Magic Power. Their number strongly affects a cultivator’s future potential.

• Ordinary cultivators generally condense two to six Magic Meridians when entering the Fasting Stage.
• Cultivators with a Dao Body rarely exceed eight, while even a Top-Tier Dao Body is stated not to exceed twelve 151.
• Shen Luo condenses twenty Magic Meridians, greatly improving his technique strength, casting speed, and reserves 151.
• He later creates thirteen narrower auxiliary Magic Meridians through the perilous Mysterious Yin Meridian-Opening Art, raising his reserves to nearly three times those of an ordinary late-stage Mahayana cultivator 475.

Cultivation and Recovery

Magic Power is ordinarily replenished by refining heaven-and-earth spiritual energy, though unusually dense environments and rare resources can accelerate the process.

• Shen Luo rapidly restores depleted reserves in a spiritual pool whose energy density exceeds the real world’s by more than a hundred times 97.
• Pills can force Magic Power to circulate more quickly and help compensate for physical limitations, though they do not remove the underlying problem of poor aptitude 252.
• The Three-Origin Open-Peace Secret Technique stores Magic Power in an external Spirit-Nurturing Formation, allowing it to be recalled later to assault an Out-of-Body Stage bottleneck 620 621.
• Immortal Crystals can rapidly replenish Magic Power and aid physical recovery, but are consumed in the process 1354.

Divine Abilities and Cultivation Arts

Magic Power is the basis for most conventional cultivation techniques.

• It powers Shen Luo’s Water Control Technique, Slanting Moon Step, Spirit-Linking arts, talismans, and other divine abilities 95 221.
• The water-attributed Nameless Art allows Magic Power to absorb and neutralize the disruptive vibration emitted by a bronze mirror 549.
• The Pure Yang Sword Art transforms Magic Power into righteous Yang Gang energy, using it to clear blocked meridians and strengthen attacks 471.
• The Huangting Scripture uses pure Magic Power to support powerful arts such as Three-Star Demonbane, whose complete form requires True Immortal cultivation 188.

Artifact Activation

Magical Artifacts and Magic Treasures commonly require Magic Power to activate their Restrictions and divine abilities.

• The Ghost-Howling Ring is activated by infusing it with Magic Power, allowing it to manifest a destructive ghostly head and sound-wave attack 242 244.
• Its destructive power exceeds ordinary Talisman Artifacts, but a fully developed attack can consume nearly one-fifth of Shen Luo’s reserves 244.
• Magic Treasures can be refined, stored in a cultivator’s body, and repeatedly summoned through Magic Power 366.
• Shen Luo’s pure Huangting Scripture Magic Power can stabilize the Heavenly Register and fragments of the Mountains, Rivers, State and Society Diagram 1014.

Marks and Formations

Magic Power can leave persistent marks and sustain large-scale formations.

• Shen Luo places Magic Power Marks to track people or locations, though dense yin energy can weaken their detectability 1266 1303.
• Magic Formations may use a cultivator’s Magic Power as fuel, including formations designed to restore damaged Restrictions 1604.
• The Shrinking Earth Ruler’s Spatial Mark is formed from Shen Luo’s Magic Power and merges almost imperceptibly into surrounding space 1700.

Transformations and Interactions

Magic Power does not always remain a stable, independent force.

• Chi You Demonic Aura can invade the Dantian and Magic Meridians, freezing, corrupting, or obstructing Magic Power circulation 774.
• When Shen Luo’s Magic Power and several external streams of power collide with Chi You Demonic Aura, they form a gray-white vortex that forcibly draws in further energy 775.
• The Profound Yang Demon Transformation combines immortal Magic Power with demonic energy for a major temporary increase in strength, but its consumption is immense 1966.
• The Pangu True Art and its Yin-Yang Creation Diagram are designed to reconcile immortal and demonic energies. Each stage of the art increases their fusion, but the resulting backlash manifests as deadly Thunder Tribulations 1903 1904.
• Black qi from the mysterious black bottle can infect both Magic Power and Divine Sense, making it dangerous even to investigate 726.

Limitations

• Magic Power can be completely sealed by Restrictions placed in the Dantian and Magic Meridians, leaving a cultivator unable to use spells or artifacts 305.
• Soul possession and yin-aligned techniques can make its circulation sluggish or freeze it in place 552.
• Certain Magic Treasures, such as the Gourd-Gold Rope, directly devour Magic Power and can rapidly drain a restrained target 606.
• Powerful techniques may consume reserves faster than recovery methods can restore them, forcing Shen Luo to rely on pills, artifacts, allies, or retreat 1628 1656.
• A cultivator’s physical aptitude remains a major limiting factor: Shen Luo’s real-world meridians circulate Magic Power much more slowly than his dream body’s, despite his retained cultivation insight 252.
