The Azure Short Axe trailed a dense cluster of lightning as it swept through an arc in midair. With a hiss, it tore through Shen Luo's robe and the flesh beneath it.

Blood sprayed out. A searing pain ripped across Shen Luo's chest, and the force unleashed when the golden blade shattered sent him sprawling backward.

Hu Yong seized the chance. He rushed forward, lightning flaring around his short axe once more, and brought it down at the center of Shen Luo's skull, intent on killing him outright.

Shen Luo lay on the ground, his chest burning with pain. The lingering force of the blow still raged through his body. For the moment, he could not even stand, much less dodge or fight back.

At that critical instant, a flash of azure light appeared beside him. Lu Huaming emerged and thrust his sword straight at Hu Yong's heart.

Azure light flickered along the blade, as though it were wrapped in an invisible film. Beneath that film, countless slender, razor-sharp strands of azure sword energy could faintly be seen.

Hu Yong's eye twitched. He immediately abandoned his attack on Shen Luo, twisted his body aside, and drew his axe back to hack downward in front of his chest.
