Just as Yang Jian thought he had finally broken through the barrier, a Buddhist chant suddenly resounded within Shen Luo's consciousness sea. The kasaya immediately blazed with light, and several blades condensed from divine thought shot out from it.
Before anyone could react, Yang Jian let out a sudden scream. He jerked his hand away from Shen Luo's head, clutched his own head with both hands, and staggered back several steps, nearly falling off the altar.
"That's... a divine soul counterattack," the Yellow-Browed Monk said in surprise.
Zhen Yuanzi's eyes flickered. He stepped forward and brought his palm down on the crown of Shen Luo's head.
Shen Luo's body jolted. As though all his strength had been drained away, he collapsed into a seated position.
