In September, the fallow fields received their final plowing; in October, winter wheat was sown.

The vast fields were no longer a sea of gold. Everything had been harvested, and now countless farmers were busy planting new wheat seeds.

This place lay only twenty kilometers from Papika City and belonged to the Royal House's territory. Even so, the farmers had rarely seen such an imposing procession.

It was noon. A gleaming line appeared on the road: two squads of Knights in splendid armor advancing along the main road.

The farmers at work immediately moved aside and respectfully lowered their heads.

There was no cavalry at the front, only Knights—twelve in all—clad in exquisite Royal House armor that flashed with golden light beneath the sun.

In the middle was an exquisitely carved carriage. From its open compartment, one could clearly see the farmland. Romon sat leisurely within, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Lokonde.

Many nobles followed behind them, though they were all very young.

"Who are these people?" Romon glanced over them and asked.

"Your Highness, they are all young nobles of our kingdom. As you know, aside from the eldest sons who inherit the family estates, the lives of other young nobles are somewhat idle. We believe they ought to receive some training, and this large-scale replanting should allow them to take part," Minister of Agriculture Lokonde said.

Romon nodded after hearing this. "You are right. It is wise to repair the roof before the rain comes."

The lives of nobles were not merely idle; they were also rather difficult, especially for the second and third sons of court nobles. They had plenty of time but not enough money. Other than constantly hosting banquets, these young men had nothing to do but play cards, chat idly, and read.
