Romon pushed the door open and entered. After walking some distance along a multicolored passage, he found another door ahead. He pushed it open and emerged into a temple complex.
The magnificent temples stood around a plaza paved with white jade. Giant columns formed corridors, beyond which stretched an endless, pitch-black night sky.
Romon had once thought this was the temple of an elemental goddess. Only later had he realized that it was the shared dwelling of the Primordial Gods.
Once all seven gods were present, seven temples would stand here, rather than the current four.
Only when all seven Primordial Gods had gathered could the Pantheon Hall be built.
Strictly speaking, the Pantheon Hall was a meeting hall for the gods. Its birth was almost inevitable, for it would be the only completely neutral ground in this universe.
It belonged to no deity and had no native inhabitants. Its form was that of these small halls, built from giant columns beneath a star-filled night sky.
Of course, it had yet to take shape. As more gods joined, it would become a meeting hall connected to every deity's domain.
This meeting hall would suppress all divine power, reducing the gods to demigods, and suppress all magic as well. It would provide a secluded place where the gods could communicate and confer to resolve urgent matters.
Whether for a meeting between just two gods discussing an alliance or a conference involving an entire pantheon, it would be a safe place for negotiations.
