Differences (Part 1)

"Captain, what do we do now?" On the distant Inland Battlefield, Owenna's thirty-man team encountered a large demon force amid a stretch of ruins.

Although each of the thirty people she led was highly capable, there were three hundred demons on the other side. Their numbers could not be underestimated.

"Peli, remember my words. If we can leave, we leave. We're fighting a guerrilla war; our real targets are those isolated Imps. If we truly can't avoid them, then we'll have no choice but to fight!" Owenna's eyes gleamed with resolve.

The Imps had already launched their attack. Wielding gleaming blades, they charged at the thirteen-man squad.

A team of thirty was not small, but the enemy's numbers were simply too great. Soon, they were swallowed by the torrent formed by the Imps.

"This can't go on!" Owenna slaughtered enemies as she watched the battlefield.

A Fourth-Level Warrior, she wielded a longsword that flashed with icy cold light beneath the sun. Wherever it went, Imps died.

But there were simply too many Imps, while her companions were far weaker than she was. As she constantly protected them, she gradually lost her chance to break through. Together with her thirty companions, she was trapped in the rushing tide of Imps.

"Captain, break out first!" someone shouted.

Of the thirty, Owenna and five others had warhorses. Under such circumstances, they had a chance to escape.

"Nonsense! How could I flee in the face of battle?" Owenna's longsword flashed, immediately cutting down an Imp. Almost at the same moment, pain stabbed through her back. Had Romon not specifically given her a suit of soft armor last time, she would have been wounded again.
