Agreement (Part 1)

Romon's gaze swept over everything before him again. The battlefield had been cleaned thoroughly; the demons' corpses had all been collected. Aside from the occasional patches of bright red blood on the ground giving off a rank stench, nothing else remained.

Romon then turned his attention to the small pile of spoils before him. They were scattered jewels taken from the demons. Without a second thought, he put them into his spatial storage as well, setting them aside separately.

"Even mosquito meat is still meat," he remarked as he put them away.

"I'm back. Let's go." When he caught up with the group, he found that they had been moving very slowly, practically waiting for him not far from the battlefield. As soon as Romon rejoined the main force, he ordered them to pick up their pace.

The sound of hoofbeats rose once more, and the party slowly set off again. Lightning, the giant eagle, vanished into the darkness once more, tirelessly scouting the surrounding area from the sky.

Yet this was something that had to be done within the Demon Calamity region. The situation throughout the entire area was highly unstable. While the Demon Calamity did not appear particularly severe in some places, small groups of wandering demons could descend upon them at any time. Unless every demon army in the entire county was wiped out, no place was absolutely safe.

Gradually, the party grew noisy as well. After that earlier upheaval, everyone's drowsiness had been blown away without a trace, and whenever they had nothing to do, they discussed the battle they had just witnessed.

Romon had slain more than a hundred Imps by himself, completely reassuring the refugees about their safety.

Their attitude toward Romon and Tekaxiu immediately became respectful and deferential.

Beneath the moonlight, the party
