Ruins (Part 1)

In the Ruined Temple, Romon walked inward, lost in thought.

The person in charge of this mission was naturally an archbishop sent by the Radiance Church. Everyone now knew his name: Andalu.

Anyone familiar with Romon's background knew about his grudge against the Radiance Church.

They know full well about my enmity with the Radiance Church, yet they still invited me to join this mission. What exactly are they up to? Romon could not make heads or tails of it.

His vigilance was by no means low. He would mull over even trivial matters, let alone something so obviously suspicious.

Looking at the others, aside from a few priests interacting with the people from the Radiance Church, everyone else wore indifferent expressions, each acting on their own.

When his gaze swept to the side, Romon suddenly spotted two people who seemed remarkably at ease, and his back went numb.

One was Meimi, a priestess of the Merchant Goddess Temple. She was an exceedingly beautiful young woman at the fifth level, with around ten merchant guild warriors behind her.

Seeing Romon look over, she nodded and smiled.

The other was Samojin, the eighth-level Holy Knight of the Guardian God!

This young knight also smiled at Romon.

Romon felt somewhat stifled. He was not a particularly jealous person, but whenever he saw this fellow, he could not help feeling strangely unsettled.

An eighth-level Holy Knight at such a young age was already enough, but he is genuinely noble and handsome too. Why would someone like that take part in this operation? And what problem is there with this operation? Romon wondered.
