"Is this a restriction spell built into the Temple?" Romon found the sensation strange and pondered it in silence.

"Lord Romon, what did you say? What restriction spell?" Someone beside him stirred and asked in a low voice.

Romon turned and saw Priest Meimi watching him with her eyes open.

He rubbed his nose. What had happened? Had he actually said his thoughts aloud?

"Oh, when I retreated, I left a Nature's Eye Reconnaissance Spell up there. I was just checking what's happening outside," Romon said, mixing truth with a lie.

He did not want anyone discovering that his senses surpassed everyone else's, much less the secret of the Shennong Horn Space. A spell like that did exist among mages and Druids—it was called Magic Eye in magecraft—so no one would question his explanation.

"Then what's happening outside? Look, a lot of people are wondering." Meimi gestured for Romon to look around.

Romon looked. Apart from the mages and priests, the fighters all wore blank expressions. They had no Detection Spell or Reconnaissance Spell, so they had little idea what was happening outside.

"Archbishop Andalu, what does this mean?" a Knight of the War God Temple asked. "We were fighting, and then we suddenly all withdrew here. Why?"

"Exactly. What harm can we do the Demons by staying here? Are we just going to let the Demon Baron leave? Wouldn't everyone who died earlier have died for nothing?" The War God Temple's Knight Order had suffered heavy losses in this battle. If they paid such a price only to let the Demon Baron go without dealing the Demons a crushing blow, what had their comrades died for?
