In the blink of an eye, September had arrived.
Blood. Bright red blood was everywhere.
Besides the blood, trails left by dragged corpses marked the ground. From these alone, it was impossible to tell whether the humans had won or the demons had gained the upper hand.
The weather was crisp, the sun shone brightly, and not a single cloud dotted the blue sky. It was the finest part of September, with its clear skies and refreshing autumn air. Even in long sleeves, one would not feel hot. Instead, a slight chill had begun to creep in.
Yet the chill was hardly biting. Even the breeze carried a fresh, peaceful feeling.
But someone hiding behind a tree could not stop shivering.
"Damn those heartless bastards, making me scout the situation alone. From the look of things, they probably moved the battle elsewhere. Did they go after the enemy? It's possible. Oh, my god, what should I do? Should I obey heaven's command and keep following them? Or... go back?"
