Along the way, Romon encountered one or two frightened townspeople every few steps. As he approached the Harvey Inn, he passed several groups of people running.
"Quick, quick! Hurry to their homes and let them know! If we're too late, something terrible could happen!"
"Yes, it's so serious. Nobody could have seen this coming. Right now, we need to get people over here. There are so many wounded, and they all need their families to care for them!"
"You go east, and we'll go south. Split up and notify their families as quickly as you can!"
"Got it! Split up!"
The young people in these groups were dividing up their tasks and moving swiftly. They wore ordinary clothes, as the fabric visible at their sleeves and legs showed, but the thin leather armor over their clothing gave away their identity.
Judging by their attire, they seemed to be members of the city's Guard Corps.
As he walked, Romon's sharp eyes noticed bloodstains on the young people rushing past him. But from the way they raced along, they did not seem to be the ones injured. They were probably just delivering messages to the wounded people's families.
The sight only deepened Romon's doubts.
