In the palace beneath the sea, the robe bestowed by the queen was glittering with light.
Romon had just hurled it hard onto the floor, but the power that had already been activated continued sending signals outward without stopping.
Romon stared at the garment in irritation, wondering whether he should destroy it immediately. Being tricked like this left a decidedly bitter taste in his mouth.
As things stood, he still had no idea what other functions the robe might have.
However, Romon was no longer at an age when he acted on impulse. After considering the advantages, disadvantages, and consequences, he quickly abandoned his attempt to destroy the robe.
"I won't just let this slide. But Your Majesty, if this palace really is your target, what exactly are you planning to do?"
"What good will receiving the signal do you? Can you actually send people diving down here?" Romon muttered to himself. "By then, I'll have stripped the palace bare."
Soon, however, he realized he was wrong.
It took only a short while for Romon to notice that something was amiss.
Clearly, the robe contained more than one kind of power. In an instant, it burst apart, and a small gateway of white light appeared, growing steadily larger.

Romon started in shock.

Romon's expression shifted uncertainly. A moment later, he snorted coldly, turned, and left.
Since this location had already been pinpointed, stopping the portal would only mean another one would open. There was no point. Still, using him would not be so easy.
