"We can't break out anyway, so we might as well kill as many as we can!"
On the sea, only a few human warships remained, still struggling to hold on.
These human warships had not been sunk by the Elves' shells amid the thunderous barrage just now. They had seemed quite fortunate, but as time wore on, they too would eventually meet their doom.
The surviving human soldiers and Knights had all become utterly frenzied. Their bodies were drenched in their own blood and that of their enemies, and they kept swinging their longswords as they fought without cease.
They had become so crazed because they already knew that today's battle would very likely be the last battle of their lives. They could clearly see what lay ahead. They knew they might die here today. There were so many Elves around them, gathering in ever greater numbers, while their own side was dwindling by the moment. Their deaths were certain!
But even if they could not return alive, they would still kill a few Elves.
"Elder, look. Only those few human warships are still putting up stubborn resistance here. Can we fire the cannons again?" An Elven captain approached an elder and asked.
From their position, they could see the people on those human warships fighting with extraordinary savagery.
"The supply of Magic Crystal Cannon shells has already been exhausted. What a pity!" The Elven elder shook his head and refused.
They stood at the edge of the island. By then, the mist in that area had dispersed, and looking out toward the nearby sea, they could see the battle on the water with perfect clarity.
At that very moment, a final great slaughter was unfolding upon the sea.
