The fluctuation was familiar. It was the same omen that preceded every upgrade of the space.

Romon started. Before his eyes, pale green motes formed a virtual dialog box that read, "The space has reached level 20. Upgrade?"

Then another message appeared: "The space has detected power it can absorb. Absorb?"

The two messages in succession signaled something unusual.

Time for another upgrade? And this item must be extraordinary. There are very few things the Shennong Horn actively tries to absorb... Romon solemnly accepted the box.

The box was bound by layers of magical seals, but Romon could already sense a fluctuation of power inside.

"Rest assured. Since you have entrusted your fate to me, I will protect you," Romon said, keeping his expression composed.

After a moment's thought, he added, "Don't leave yet. Stay for a few days. Once I've thought this through, I'll come to you to settle the matter."

"Yes!" Makaya was a little disappointed, but she said nothing more.

At his call, a steward came forward and quickly arranged accommodations for them.

Once they had left, Romon immediately inspected his locator scrolls. He had bought five more since last time. After checking each one and finding no flaws, he immediately called upon the Demiplane.

The Demiplane's power automatically formed a teleportation effect. Romon's figure flashed and vanished.

A moment later, a small space came into view.

It was a little different from last time. Previously, the sky had been pitch-black. Now, a faint white light from some unknown source bathed the space.

The ground beneath his feet had originally been black, but now a layer of soil had accumulated over it.

The wind had once carried a bitter chill, but now it was much warmer. Not far away, water had begun to gather in a pond.
