Putting the matter out of his mind, Romon reached the channel.
The channel was quite deep, though it was not particularly wide. Romon had intended to cross immediately, but then he remembered the Succubus from earlier.
No, I need to check for danger first, Romon thought, examining it with his spiritual perception.
What he saw made his scalp prickle.
At first, he thought the bottom was densely packed with snakes. On closer inspection, however, they turned out to be tentacled monsters.
"So monsters like this really do exist!" Romon casually kicked a stone, sending it tumbling into the channel with a bang.
Just before the stone fell into the channel, a mass of tentacle-like appendages suddenly shot out, wrapped around it, and dragged it down.

Crackle! Hundreds of lightning bolts struck the channel, instantly vaporizing even the water.
Looking at the tentacled monsters, now charred to cinders, Romon felt deeply satisfied... It was the exhilaration of blasting his enemies to death. After standing there for a moment, he continued forward.
What sent a chill even through Romon was that human bones littered the path he had just traversed.
There were scarcely any complete skeletons. Most of what he could see were scattered bones. From their condition, Romon could more or less guess how
