The territory had now changed hands. All its former rules needed to be overturned and established anew.
The servants who lived at the very bottom of the castle's hierarchy were the first people whose thinking needed to change.
"Gather everyone in the castle. Bring the servants first. Lock everyone else up until I deal with them," Romon ordered after making a round of the castle.
"Yes, my lord!" Gesuo was now clad in full armor, with more than a dozen soldiers behind him. Though their force was hardly formidable, with Romon there, they had nothing to fear and could carry out their duties.
The servants stood trembling in a lavishly decorated hall.
They already knew what had happened in the territory. Knowing nothing about their new master, they were terrified.
No one dared speak. Several young women stood before them, and their clothing made it clear that they were priests!
Even the strongest men among the servants dared not entertain the slightest thought of fleeing or resisting.
Only a few young women and soldiers were watching them in the hall, yet they all stood obediently in place, waiting for their new master to arrive.
Though none dared move, they all had their own suspicions.
