Author: Zombie

[Completed + Extra]

Blurb:

When He Qinglan woke up from a sleep, he almost doubted his divine life.

The once most beautiful Qinglan River in Huazhou had turned into a famous polluted river in Huazhou—partially blocked, mostly dried up, utterly foul, and filled with garbage.

To keep from perishing along with his river, the River God began his daily routine of frantically picking up trash.

Shock! A beautiful man goes to the riverside every day to pick up trash!

Shock! The trash-picking beauty comes to blows with immoral people throwing garbage, defeating six opponents single-handedly and emerging completely unscathed!

Shock! Today the trash-picking beauty once again persuades someone attempting suicide by drowning to turn back! Truly a good Samaritan of the new era!

Shock! To pick up trash more efficiently, the trash-picking beauty sets up a shed by the river!

Breaking!! Seafood tycoon Shui Wuyuan appears inside the trash-picking beauty's shed!!!!

He Qinglan: Don't throw garbage into my river! This deity doesn't have any golden garbage or silver garbage to give you!!

He Qinglan: Piss off, and stop soiling my river!!

Huazhou had a beautiful river that originated from the peaks of mountains and flowed across plateaus, basins, and plains.

It had nurtured brilliant cultures and heritages, once beautiful and glorious.

And then, it dried up.

No one mentioned it ever again.

A millennium later.

Everyone living by the river hated this polluted sewer and wished it no longer existed.

No one remembered the river's former beauty and glory.

But the River God knew.

And so, the dead water came back to life.

Includes but is not limited to picking up trash, selling seafood, a single coin stumping a hero, and other content.

The protagonist was once immensely wealthy and powerful, but tears come to mind whenever he talks about it later.

The gong is exceptionally wealthy and willful, bringing rain wherever he goes, the Trash-Talk King, with maxed-out taunt power, ruthless enough to mock even himself.

P.S.: This story has nothing much to do with the entertainment circle, at most featuring frequent Weibo hot searches—after all, the gong is exceedingly rich, willful, and full of snark.

There are cute pets and beasts in the book, along with love and peace.

Face-slapping happens every day; though the shou is temporarily poor, he is overwhelmingly badass.

Adding this to your favorites won't cost you a thing!! Plagiarizing the concept will be investigated to the end!!!

Brief Review of the Work:

When the River God woke up from a sleep, he almost doubted his divine life. The once-ranked most beautiful Qinglan River in Huazhou had transformed into a famous Huazhou polluted river that was partially blocked, mostly dried up, completely filthy, and choked with garbage. To avoid perishing along with his river, the River God embarked on a daily routine of frantic trash-picking. Having finally restored his own river, the River God discovered ruined mountains, seas, and forests... Thus, Lord River God had no choice but to work hard to help humanity. This is a story about human destruction and alteration of nature, facing head-on the various disasters spawned by damaging nature from the perspective of "deities," or from nature and living spirits themselves. Deities do not exist in the real world, but nature does. Nature is watching us, and hopefully, the ending of the world and the story will both be beautiful and harmonious.

Chapter 1

In July, even a starless, overcast night offered not a shred of coolness.

The shrill, desperate cries of summer cicadas filled the eardrums, and a muggy wind carrying dust swept across the cracked mud and the riverbed occupied by all sorts of garbage.

Amidst this desolation of dryness and trash, a stream only a finger's width wide and far from clear flowed sluggishly. It seemed to want to journey further, yet the feeble current was quickly absorbed by the parched riverbed, eventually sinking underground to become a pool of mire.

Right in the center of this patch of silt, a pitch-black, mottled-scaled, horribly ugly black fish whose tail fin could barely twitch to prove it was still alive lay sprawled there. Its dull eyes radiated intense self-reproach and agony, staring blankly at the blue bead diagonally in front of it.

The instant that final current of water completely sank into the ground, cutting off the source that fed this river, the black fish saw spiderweb-like cracks suddenly burst across that blue bead.

Those cracks seemed to fracture directly upon the black fish's heart, causing this black fish to emit a strange, hoarse cry of sorrow from its mouth. Then it actually jerked itself up with a carp's flip, exhausting all its strength to condense a tiny droplet of water from its dark forehead, trying to re-moisten that fragile, beautiful blue bead.

Yet its water was far too little.

It could not even dampen the surface of the bead.

It was also dying.

It fundamentally had no remaining strength to repair that gem.

Muffled thunder rolled in waves, and a hot wind carrying dust and debris suddenly raged violently.

It was as if torrential rain would pour from the heavens the very next second.

Having exhausted all its strength, the black fish tumbled down into the filthy mud. One of its eyes stared fixedly at the sky, yearning for the sweet rain to fall so it could make a final rescue of this dying river and keep that blue gem from shattering.

However, the rain lingered and failed to fall.

In the gale, several more scales fell from the black fish, making it look even more like a stinking, rotting dead fish.

Its fish eyes also transitioned from eager anticipation to the extinguishing of sparks, and in the end it even began to whimper and cry.

Yet when it cried, it could not shed even a scrap of tears.

Then an earth-shaking rumble of thunder resounded across the land.

That blue bead covered in spiderweb cracks also shattered with a bang at this very instant!

Amidst the black fish's shrill, extremely feeble lament, the rain poured down in torrents.

Bean-sized raindrops soaked the already parched riverbed and pelted the body of the black fish.

Yet the black fish only stared blankly at the debris of the shattered blue bead, crying out in mournful sorrow.

"Ying—"

"Ying-ying—!"

That shrill, sorrowful cry was extremely tiny, unable even to pierce through the howling storm.
