Background / History

The Huayu Sect was founded by True Lord Huayu and maintained a long legacy of Nascent Soul cultivators. Its original mountain gate occupied the core region of the Bailu Mountain Range, including one hundred and eight spiritually rich peaks. The sect controlled the southeastern region of Jiang Kingdom and was regarded as a hegemonic power; entry was highly sought after but strictly regulated 229.

At the time Ning Fa entered the sect, True Lord Donghua, a Mid Nascent Soul cultivator, served as its supreme elder. The sect then had more than a dozen Golden Core cultivators, roughly six hundred Foundation Establishment cultivators, and twenty to thirty thousand Qi Condensation disciples 229.

The sect’s southward expansion into the Cloud Wasteland Great Marsh brought it into sustained conflict with the Black Spirit Church and later escalated into an unprecedented war with its longtime rival, the Myriad Laws Sect 235 326 541. True Lord Donghua’s death during the conflict left the sect without its Nascent Soul ancestor and forced it into a struggle for survival 541.

Outer disciples are divided among seven largely independent academies: Guyun, Xinghan, Yunlan, Yushu, Xianlin, Chenhan, and Lingxi. Each academy has its own exclusive missions, making academy assignment important for earning contribution points and advancing in status 231.

Contribution Points are central to sect life and are considered more important than spirit stones for many disciples. They are earned through sect missions and exchanged for cultivation resources and advancement opportunities 231 232.

Entry Requirements and Oath

The sect recruits children with Spiritual Roots throughout its territory, while cultivators who already possess cultivation may apply during periodic recruitment. Applicants are judged not only on aptitude and talent, but also on background and loyalty; cultivators from established families are viewed as less desirable because of their outside attachments 227.

New entrants undergo a heart-questioning assessment before swearing an oath to uphold sect rules, accept the sect’s grace, cultivate diligently, and build the immortal path with the sect 230. They are also warned that the sect expects primary loyalty over continued involvement with their birth families 230.

Seven Prodigies

Every ten years, the Huayu Sect selects seven exceptional disciples below the Golden Core stage as the Seven Prodigies. Selection considers talent, combat ability, strategy, and temperament. The sect prioritizes their advancement to Golden Core, including granting each Prodigy a Condensing Crystal Pill 235 501.

• Ning Fa — appointed as a Seven Prodigy after his achievements against the Demonic Sect and Black Spirit Church brought major honor to the sect 501.
• Chu Bingyun / Fairy Bai Feng — a former Yunlan Academy disciple recognized among the Seven Prodigies before reaching Golden Core 231.
• Su Hao — previously held a Prodigy position before advancing to Golden Core 501.

Internal Factions

The Huayu Sect is divided primarily between the Family Faction and the Disciple Faction.

Faction	Composition and influence
Family Faction	Led by the Ouyang, Duanmu, Ji, and Cheng families. Each possessed at least two Golden Core cultivators within the sect, while True Lord Donghua himself originated from the Ouyang family 237.
Disciple Faction	Composed mainly of cultivators without major aristocratic backgrounds. Its bonds are based more on master-disciple ties than bloodline 237.

The Family Faction originally monopolized major positions and resources, prompting unaffiliated disciples to consolidate into the Disciple Faction. By Ning Fa’s time, the Disciple Faction’s Golden Core strength was comparable to the Family Faction’s, and it held several major offices, including the Law Enforcement Hall and Dan Ding Peak 237.

Family privileges include direct Inner Disciple quotas, priority access to high-level spiritual resources and trial grounds, preferred mining rights, and reduced sect taxes 494.

Xia Family Integration

The sect later admitted the Xia family on unusually favorable terms, creating a tenth inner peak for its two Golden Core ancestors and granting the family three hundred Inner Disciple positions—roughly one-tenth of the sect’s total Inner Disciple capacity 326.

After True Lord Donghua’s death, the sect established an Elder Council of Golden Core elders to jointly manage major affairs 541. During the later war period, the council included Ouyang Zhenhua, Duanmu Qi, Ji Yongchang, True Dragon Jade, True Person Yu Chen, and True Man Dao Yin 567.

Territory and Resources

Bailu Mountain Range

The sect’s original territory in the Bailu Mountain Range stretched for over ten thousand miles and contained abundant spiritual mountains, rare beasts, and major Spirit Veins. The one hundred and eight central peaks formed the core of its original cultivation grounds 229.

The sect also preserved short-range teleportation arrays at important captured locations, allowing immediate reinforcement across distances of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of miles 428.

Yunxi Mountain Range

After the collapse of its position in Jiang Kingdom, the Huayu Sect purchased residency rights in the northern Yunxi Mountain Range for nine million spirit stones and rebuilt its mountain gate there 624 626.

Its new main peak was renamed Green Feather Peak. The rebuilt territory contained forty-nine peaks with Spirit Veins:

Following relocation, the sect retained twenty-three Golden Core elders, 352 Foundation Establishment cultivators, and 18,500 Qi Condensation disciples. This was a sharp decline from its former strength, particularly among lower-level disciples lost during the war or left behind during migration 627.

Xuguo Expansion

After the Pei family vanished from Xuguo, Huayu Sect and Ning family cultivators moved in to take control of its marketplaces and immortal cities 964. The Changning Mountain Range was later divided between the two powers, with its eastern region belonging to the Ning family and western region belonging to the Huayu Sect 1010.
