"Nonsense! You brought your army back, so how are you supposed to stop the Demonfolk Army now? Are you praying here, praying that the Demonfolk Army won't come?" The man who had just stepped forward continued shouting.
Making trouble for Huo Hai had now become the best way for these so-called great Lineage scions to demonstrate their abilities. Their thinking was the same as that of the fellow before them. The difference was that they were smarter and had not rushed to step forward. With so many people here, what could Huo Hai do to them as long as they gave him nothing to use against them?
Huo Hai glanced at the fellow and said mildly, "Of course. All I did earlier was a little something. I lured the Magic Beasts out." Huo Hai gestured. "Lin Xing, tell them."
Huo Hai had already told Lin Xing and the others about this on the way back. Suppressing his excitement, Lin Xing stepped forward, saluted, and said, "Reporting to the general: after we received the news this morning, Lord Huo Hai went to Gourd Valley alone."
Next, Lin Xing recounted how Huo Hai had lured out the Magic Beasts, how he had made the Magic Beasts and Spirit Beasts form a beast tide, and how he had used the dense fog as cover to lead that beast tide toward the Demonfolk Army. As they listened, everyone exchanged bewildered looks. Was such a thing even possible? Hadn't Demon Spirit Masters always been the only ones who could command Magic Beasts, and even then only to a limited extent?
They had never known that Magic Beasts could be driven through such a clever shortcut. A beast tide formed from enormous numbers of Magic Beasts had charged straight into a camp without tall defensive structures.
