Looking down at the Undead Army, Huo Hai shook his head. "What a shame. Not enough time, and too few of them." Even after all that preparation, there still weren't enough gray motes of light, and he hadn't created many undead.
Fewer than thirty thousand undead stood before Huo Hai, protecting him. That number could barely hold off the Demonfolk's attacks. Yet the Demonfolk were still suffering fewer losses. The undead were defective products, after all, and more of them fell when they faced the Demonfolk.
At this rate, he could barely maintain the stalemate. As time passed, it seemed he would still die in the end. The enemy commander noticed this too and ordered the attacks intensified, determined to capture Huo Hai as quickly as possible.
Huo Hai's ability was truly terrifying. He could even become an army unto himself. Not even a Demon Spirit Master could accomplish that. Not every Demon Spirit Master could control Demonfolk, and even those who could had limits to how many they could command.
Only certain gifted Demon Spirit Masters, as well as those who were pure Demon Spirit Masters, could control Demonfolk. However, differences in strength meant that each could control a different number. So many Demonfolk could only be managed through the combined efforts of numerous Demon Spirit Masters. A single Demon Spirit Master could, at most, ensure these creatures wouldn't attack them.
Moreover, creating these Demonfolk required materials and time, along with enormous effort. Who knew how long it had taken to produce these fifty thousand reasonably capable Demonfolk?
Huo Hai was different. As long as there were corpses, he alone could keep creating undead creatures. That ability was truly terrifying. In times like these, weren't corpses everywhere? Start a war, and countless bodies could immediately be produced.
