"Domain?" Dagon looked at Megumi Fushiguro.
Just as Morien had guessed, Dagon was indeed intimidated by Megumi Fushiguro's domain at first.
So he immediately unleashed his technique, intending to wipe out everyone present at maximum output.
The two domains began crushing against each other, causing Dagon's technique to lose its "sure-hit" effect.
Even without the "sure-hit" effect, however, Dagon's technique remained powerful.
"Technique Release, Death Swarm."
A massive number of fish Cursed Spirits burst forth from the seawater and surged toward the shore.
Honestly, this was Morien's first time using a word like "surge" to describe living creatures.
But there were simply too many of those Cursed Spirits.
The ocean was the source of life, and the effect of Death Swarm was to summon an endless stream of Shikigami from the sea.
Morien's eyes widened. He neither dodged nor retreated, and every Shikigami was reflected in his faintly glowing eyes.
In Morien's eyes, everything seemed to slow down.
Eyes of Mystery Prying.
"This is..."
Morien's smile grew wider and wider.
Hee!
So thrilling, so thrilling!
It would be worth dying just to see a scene like this!
Then, in the next instant, Morien, who stood closest to the sea, was swallowed by the school of fish.
"Morien!" Kento Nanami's pupils shrank.
Just now, he had thought Morien possessed some hidden, powerful ability.
Yet he was the first to be instantly taken out.
But Nanami no longer had the spare attention to worry about anyone else.
The school of fish had already surged before him.
Nanami had no choice but to refocus. He drew a blunt blade wrapped in bandages from behind his back and swung it forward with force, cutting apart the Shikigami ahead of him.
Dagon floated in midair, maintaining the hand sign for his unleashed technique as he looked down at Morien being devoured by the Cursed Spirits.
"You're the weakest one," he said without emotion.
After saying that, he withdrew his gaze and focused more of his attention on Naobito Zenin.
Like most sorcerers and Cursed Spirits, Dagon was used to judging an opponent's strength by the amount of Cursed Energy they possessed.
Next, he devoted sixty percent of his Cursed Energy to dealing with Naobito Zenin and forty percent to Kento Nanami and Megumi Fushiguro. As for Maki Zenin, he simply ignored her, deciding to dispose of her with the aftermath of the battle.
The school of fish surged toward the other Jujutsu Sorcerers.
Among them, several sea serpents shot straight at Megumi Fushiguro, opening their enormous jaws to kill him.
Megumi Fushiguro could only stand where he was, his hands forming seals as he maintained the domain and watched helplessly as the two sea serpents lunged at him.
They were all somewhat far apart, and the other Jujutsu Sorcerers were each held back as well, completely unable to come to his aid.
Dagon's judgment was entirely correct.
As long as Megumi Fushiguro was dealt with, once the "sure-hit" effect returned, every other Jujutsu Sorcerer would become fish on the chopping block.
At that moment, a golden butterfly no bigger than a fingernail landed on Megumi Fushiguro's shoulder.
Megumi Fushiguro noticed it.
The next moment, something unexpected happened.
Both sea serpents wanted to kill Megumi Fushiguro. They opened their jaws at the same time and attacked him without either one yielding.
But because of that, their heads collided and bounced away from each other.
By sheer coincidence, the two sea serpents missed Megumi Fushiguro.
The golden butterfly on Megumi Fushiguro's shoulder withered and shattered the next second.
It delayed them by less than two seconds, but that was enough.
Squelch!
One of the sea serpents that had recovered and attacked Megumi Fushiguro again was swiftly nailed to the beach by Maki Zenin's naginata.
The next instant, the other sea serpent and every nearby school of fish were cut apart in succession.
Ratio Technique.
Kento Nanami's technique.
It could forcibly create a weak point on an enemy's body at a seven-to-three ratio.
It sounded like a difficult Cursed Technique that required precise aim.
But the range in which those "lines" were drawn on the target was decided by Kento Nanami himself.
Strike the face, and it was seven-to-three across the head. Strike the stomach, and it was seven-to-three across the upper body. Strike the leg, and it was seven-to-three across the lower body.
Hit the weak point, and it became a critical hit.
Just kidding. Everywhere was a weak point.
Three-sevenths was infinite.
On the other side, Naobito Zenin swiftly leaped into the air, then stepped on the heads of the fish Shikigami passing beneath him as he closed in on Dagon.
His speed was unimaginable. Every movement was faster than the last, and in a single instant, he arrived before Dagon and threw a punch at his face.
Meanwhile, Kento Nanami and Maki Zenin quickly moved closer to Megumi Fushiguro, helping him clear out the surrounding Shikigami while he had to keep both hands locked in seals.
Without the "sure-hit" effect, even with the domain's enhancement, Dagon's combat strength could only match Naobito Zenin's.
In the original story, he had only managed to suppress Naobito Zenin because the "sure-hit" effect had severed one of Naobito Zenin's arms at the beginning.
The two fought in close quarters, trading punches and kicks, neither able to gain the upper hand.
But both sides knew that if they dragged things out until Megumi Fushiguro could no longer sustain the domain, Naobito Zenin would undoubtedly lose.
The moment the "sure-hit" effect returned would be Naobito Zenin's death sentence.
At that moment, Dagon suddenly sensed someone approaching from behind.
As a Special Grade Cursed Spirit, his instincts were sharp enough.
Ordinarily, he should have grown several sea serpents from his back and swallowed whoever was approaching him.
But in a daze, Dagon hesitated for an instant.
For some reason, the person behind him felt familiar.
"Hanami..." he murmured instinctively.
For a moment, he thought the other disaster Cursed Spirit who had been killed by the Jujutsu Sorcerers had returned.
"Don't get my rabbit killed," Morien's voice rang out in Dagon's mind. "I just got it."
"Then watch out for it yourself first," Dagon replied instinctively.
"No!" Dagon broke free from that confused state.
But Morien's leg had already swept in from the side, a whip kick slamming viciously toward his stomach.
Dagon hurriedly threw a punch to the side.
But as Morien kicked, he held the rabbit in one arm and raised his other open palm as though supporting a tray.
His palm caught Dagon's fist perfectly and lifted the red fist upward.
At the same time, Morien's kick arrived. His toes were pointed upward, and they stabbed into Dagon's abdomen like the curved blade of a short sickle.
What followed was the left hand Morien had initially used to lift Dagon's fist.
That arm snapped downward, his elbow drove forward, and the elbow strike smashed into Dagon's face, viciously knocking his octopus-like face to the other side.
Melee Scholar!
"Good lad!" Naobito Zenin had already appeared on Dagon's other side, pressing one palm against Dagon's flank.
"Not good!" Dagon tried to stop him, but it was already too late.
His movements froze in place, as though he had become a photograph.
"Yahaha." Naobito Zenin raised both hands, his fists rapidly raining consecutive blows onto Dagon's face.
And there was even an ora ora.
Morien now acknowledged Naobito Zenin as a true old-school anime fan.
Bang!
Accompanied by the sound of shattering glass, Dagon was blasted from above the sea onto the beach, rolling as he crashed into a tree.
