"Seriously?" Metal Bat, ranked fifteenth in S-Class, widened his eyes.
"So that's how it is..." Atomic Samurai said softly. "It seems this isn't the time to be testing others..."
As it turned out, he was nothing more than a frog at the bottom of a well himself.
He had barely scratched the surface of swordsmanship, yet he had thought he had come far enough, seeing only his own tiny patch of sky.

"Didn't you say you were going to judge what kind of life I'd led? Doesn't this mean you just got a free sparring session out of me?" Morien smiled and shook his head.
"I'll pay the tuition." Atomic Samurai walked back to his seat, sat down, and looked up at Morien.
After a half-second pause, he continued, "Your blade is contradictory."
"To be honest, this is the first time I've ever seen sword intent like that."
"I can feel your indifference toward everything, but in contrast to that..."
Atomic Samurai turned to look at the Jellyfish beside him.
"You love them very much, don't you?"
"You can even tell that?" Morien nodded with a smile.
Forget technique. This was practically fortune-telling, wasn't it?
"If you could share even a little of that love with others, I think you could surely become a truly great hero, too." Atomic Samurai withdrew his gaze.
"It's just a shame..."
He relaxed and leaned back, looking at Morien with a smile.
"Never mind.
