Noticing Morien's arrival, Qiu Si let out a joyful buzz.
She beat her wings and flew up from the table toward Morien, sending him streams of information.
"Is that so? You finished it?" Morien opened his arms to catch her, spun around with her in his arms, and said, "That's amazing."
Then, Morien shifted to holding her with one arm and raised his other hand, lightly tapping the air before him.
Invisible ripples spread out. Morien suddenly felt his mind become exceptionally clear. Streams of information surfaced in his brain, but as long as he did not actively focus on them, they would not affect him. He could simply treat them as nonexistent.
Morien's thoughts had connected to Qiu Si and her offspring's "Swarm Network."
This was a large-scale "ritual" invented by Qiu Si and her offspring. Drawing upon their already interconnected thoughts, they had created a "Swarm Network" that linked the rituals of all Qiu Si's Worm Servants together.
Within this network, the comprehension and learning abilities of every Qiu Si's Worm Servant merged together, bringing enormous benefits.
Most of the offspring remained here, close to the Mother Bug, while some scattered into the outside world, wandering freely without any particular goal, seeking things that interested them and adding them to the network.
Some traveled down the Tussock River all the way to Backlund. Some went to the harbor district and followed ships overseas.
One offspring landed on Morien's fingertip and guided him through the Swarm Network to find what he wanted.
Reverse Cursed Technique.
This was the subject Morien had assigned Qiu Si a week ago.
She possessed all of Morien's understanding of "Cursed Energy," knew every setting related to "Cursed Energy," and understood the principles of "Reverse Cursed Technique."
It took Cursed Energy, a negative energy, and turned negative times negative into positive, creating positive energy capable of purifying Cursed Spirits and healing injuries.
Today, after Mysteries Morien synchronized his insights from "Black Flash," she had finally completed the task Morien had given her.
With a twitch of his finger, the Qiu Si's Worm Servant on his fingertip slowly flew away.
Morien raised his palm before his eyes and watched white flames burn across his naturally relaxed, slightly open hand.
Reverse Cursed Technique Emission.
In Qiu Si's view, Reverse Cursed Technique Emission was actually simpler to study than Reverse Cursed Technique itself.
That was because Morien already had far too many examples of "energy manipulation."
Emitting Path Power, emitting Spirituality, emitting Cursed Energy...
Morien smiled as he looked at the white flames of Cursed Energy in his hand.
Well, was this what one should expect from Jujutsu High?
A mere negative times negative equals positive had stumped ninety-nine percent of the Jujutsu Society and become one of the trump cards of its strongest members.
If some Jujutsu PhD came along and invented "Cursed Energy calculus," wouldn't he ascend to godhood on the spot?
"Next, we'll begin researching Domains." Morien stroked Qiu Si's fluffy head. "This will be difficult, so there's no need to rush."
The antennae on Qiu Si's head twitched, indicating that she understood.
"I can be a doctor now, though." Morien admired the white flames clinging to his hand.
Then, he looked toward the clock hanging on the wall some distance away.
Nearly an hour and a half had passed since he and Klein parted ways. Mr. Fool should have reached home by now.
"Then next, I'll pray to Mr. Fool and have him mark me first." Morien withdrew the emitted positive energy.
He did not leave the room. Instead, he simply held the butterfly, turned around, and sat directly on the table. He placed Qiu Si on his lap and absentmindedly stroked her.
Morien spoke.
"The Fool who does not belong to this era."
"The mysterious ruler above the Gray Fog."
"The King of Yellow and Black who commands good fortune."
Daffodil Street, Klein's home.
Klein, who was eating, suddenly heard an illusory and hazy prayer. He immediately realized that his fellow countryman was "calling" him.
"Sorry, I need to step out for a moment."
He swallowed the bread in his mouth, smiled apologetically at his sister and brother across from him, stood up, and walked into the washroom.
Very soon, Klein took four steps backward and arrived Above the Gray Fog, taking his seat in the high-backed chair that belonged to him.
Gray Fog swirled before him, and crimson stars flickered within it.
One of them continuously expanded and contracted, emitting a hazy voice.
So this was Morien's prayer.
Klein nodded and extended his Spirituality, touching that crimson star.
At once, the crimson light spread, and an image appeared before Klein's eyes.
Compared to when he had been an ordinary person, Klein, now a Beyonder, could clearly see much more.
Though he still could not make everything out clearly, if he looked carefully, he could still see a blurred figure.
Klein cast his gaze over and saw that Morien seemed to be sitting on a table, with something on his lap that he was gently stroking.
Was it a dog? He hadn't expected Morien to keep a pet.
Klein thought this with ease.
At that moment, he saw the back of Morien's "pet" move, spread open to both sides, then fold back down.
This... this wasn't right, was it?
Klein froze just as he was about to pull Morien up.
He carefully examined the crimson screen, trying to identify it.
Soon, Klein finally recognized what it was.
It seemed to be a huge butterfly.
This was a Beyonder creature, right? Was he raising a Beyonder creature like Miss Justice? He really was rich.
Klein immediately came to that conclusion.
Right after that, Klein noticed that there seemed to be more than one butterfly in Morien's home.
Quite a few smaller ones were flying around him, and there were many things like insect cocoons on the walls...
Klein's hand, which had been about to pull Morien over, stopped again.
No, bro, you never said your home was like this!
At that moment, Klein recalled Morien saying that he himself was a big bug. He also recalled Morien saying, while talking to Megose, that he had some offspring as well.
The word he had used then was "offspring," rather than "children" or "descendants."
Klein had thought Morien had merely used the wrong word, but looking at this now, were they really offspring?
This was already a monster, wasn't it?
Dear customer, I can't handle your problem. Would you like me to transfer you to the Victory Team?
After hesitating for a moment, Klein still extended his Spirituality once more, hooked the crimson star representing Morien, and pulled it upward.
As Morien waited silently, a mass of crimson light suddenly appeared before his eyes.
He did not resist and allowed the light to engulf him like flowing water.
When he gradually regained consciousness, he found himself standing within a magnificent palace supported by enormous stone pillars. Before him stood an ancient, mottled bronze table, and across from it sat a figure shrouded in dense Gray Fog.
Beyond that, the surroundings were empty, ethereal, and vast. At the bottom spread endless grayish-white mist and countless unreal crimson points of light.
But Morien was not intimidated by the scene in the slightest. Familiar as if it were his own home, he found himself a seat, sat down, and raised a hand in greeting.
"Yo, Old Zhou."
