"Let's get back to the point." Morien shook his head. "Tell me why you brought me up half an hour early."

Klein suppressed his craving for his phone, took a deep breath, and steadied his emotions.

"All right, let's discuss you playing along with me," Klein said.

"Huh? What is there to discuss?" Morien asked in confusion.

"Of course there is," Klein replied. "We need to coordinate beforehand about what we'll ask later. After all, there are many things that aren't suitable for me, as 'Mr. Fool,' to ask."

"Mm... and?"

"After all, we're fellow townsmen, and you're stronger than I am. I can't exactly have you pretend to be my attendant or believer..." Klein explained.

"Oh?" Morien raised his brows. "I thought you'd just assume I was your underling and, at most, give me the position of an attendant."

"Why would I?" Klein shook his head.

Morien understood.

It seemed that Klein had only begun impersonating an evil god less than a month ago, and hadn't yet developed any habitual patterns.

"Mm... in that case, I'll play another evil god." Morien lowered the hand supporting his face and sat upright. "The great Royal Insect."

"Uh... why does it have to be an evil god?" Klein questioned.

He didn't ask why it was the Royal Insect. He could roughly guess.

"Obviously, because it's cool." Morien spoke as if it were only natural. "An evil god sounds several degrees cooler than an orthodox god."

"Uh..."

On second thought, Klein felt that it actually made a lot of sense.

Besides, judging from Morien's room full of insects and insect eggs, it would probably be difficult to convince anyone he was an orthodox god anyway.

The two discussed things briefly for a few more minutes and soon settled the basics.

Klein manifested a gold-cased pocket watch and glanced at it.

As three o'clock arrived, he pressed his hand toward the crimson stars representing Justice and Hanged Man, extending his Spirituality and pulling them up.

The next instant, Morien turned his head as if sensing something. He saw light erupt from the seat opposite him and the seat to his side, stretching into two blurry figures.

Their features couldn't be made out clearly. He could only vaguely distinguish a blue-haired man in the seat beside him and a young woman with long golden hair across from him.

Morien recognized them as Mr. Hanged Man, Alger Wilson, whom he had met once before, and Miss Justice, Audrey Hall, whom he had never met.

The newly arrived Audrey Hall looked around half the table. Just as she was about to greet Mr. Fool at the head of the long table, she suddenly froze upon noticing an unfamiliar man opposite her.

His features were likewise indistinct. He had black hair and wore a mask tilted over the side of his head.

Then, she heard Mr. Fool's voice, as steady as ever:

"Let me introduce him. This is a new member. His title is Tower, and you may address him as Mr. Tower."

"This is Miss Justice, and this is Mr. Hanged Man."

A new member?

Audrey's heart immediately filled with delight.

She was more than happy to see the Tarot Club grow stronger. Moreover, this meant that the Tarot Club could recruit members, and she happened to have several people she wanted to recommend.

Hanged Man, Alger, frowned slightly, somewhat displeased that the Fool had suddenly brought in a new member.

At the very least, he should have told us beforehand... But a great figure like Mr. Fool truly wouldn't consider our feelings...

That was Alger's first reaction.

He also noticed Morien's mask and found it somewhat familiar.

Very quickly, he recognized it.

Though he couldn't make out the details, the color scheme was still easy to recognize.

Is that the man who traded materials and money with me back then?

So he really is connected to the Tarot Club. Is he Mr. Fool's subordinate?

No... if he belonged to Mr. Fool, he should be referred to as an "attendant"...

As he pondered, he briefly greeted Justice and Tower.

During that brief exchange, Audrey also entered the state of a Spectator and carefully observed the new member.

Mr. Tower seemed to be in a good mood. His posture was relaxed, and he wasn't nervous at all. He didn't seem like someone who had suddenly been pulled into an unfamiliar place.

Mm... he didn't seem to show much respect for Mr. Fool.

Did he not understand how powerful Mr. Fool was?

But Mr. Fool's attitude toward him also seemed sufficiently casual.

Could it be...

Audrey covered her mouth in surprise and didn't continue that train of thought.

"Mr. Fool, I have no Roselle diary to submit today." Alger spoke first, placing one hand over his chest. "I will soon be returning to land and am handling some affairs. As soon as I have time, I will immediately begin searching."

Hearing Alger's words, Audrey finally snapped out of her observations.

She looked toward Mr. Fool at the head of the long table and reported as well:

"Mr. Fool, I haven't collected any of Emperor Roselle's Diary recently either."

"However, I've recently met two Beyonders. I'm getting to know them naturally, and once I enter their corresponding circles, I should be able to trade for more of Roselle's diaries."

After saying that, she glanced at Morien across from her and suddenly had an idea.

"Oh, and I feel that the two Beyonders I recently met are both very promising candidates. For example, they each have decent public identities as cover, each has certain and distinct resource channels, and each has her own principles and traits. They aren't the sort of people who would casually sell secrets."

"I hope to recommend them to join the Tarot Club."

After saying that, Audrey smiled awkwardly.

"The only problem is that they're both only Sequence 9. They aren't quite suitable for a high-end, rigorous secret organization like the Tarot Club."

She lowered her head with a slight blush, seemingly a little embarrassed that she had recommended two Sequence 9 Beyonders to Mr. Fool.

A high-end organization? Honestly, I feel like we're more of a retail outlet.

Fool Klein muttered inwardly. He only wanted to cover his face and sigh, unable to find words to respond to Miss Justice's confidence.

And besides...

Klein secretly glanced at Morien.

I don't have enough Spirituality left to pull up another person.

This is Ultraman facing three monsters for the first time...

But outwardly, Klein remained expressionless and merely nodded slightly.

"You may conduct further observations of those two Beyonders. We can discuss joining later."

"All right..." Audrey was a little disappointed.

Seeing that the two old members had both spoken, Morien also spoke simply.

"Mr. Fool, I don't have any of Roselle's diaries either."

Klein fell silent for several seconds, then nodded.

"In that case, let us begin the free exchange."
