Background / History

After becoming a Titled Douluo, Dugu Bo received his title at Spirit Hall in a ceremony presided over by Golden Crocodile Douluo. He refused Spirit Hall’s invitation to join, after which Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo pursued him. Prince Xue Xing helped him escape, establishing their connection 43.

Dugu Bo discovered the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well more than a decade before Chu Lan entered its valley. He knew that the location encouraged plant growth and suppressed toxins, but could not identify its native herbs. He maintained a secluded cultivation residence nearby and surrounded the valley with poisonous miasma 26 29 30.

Following the deaths of his son and daughter-in-law, Dugu Yan became his only living relative. He seldom returned alone to his Heaven Dou City estate while she attended Heaven Dou Royal Academy, preferring to visit when she was there 26.

He is proud of his strength and easily provoked by Chu Lan’s teasing. Their relationship develops into frequent bickering without undermining their cooperation. Although he criticizes Chu Lan’s ruthlessness, he still helps capture dangerous soul beasts and recover their Soul Bones 38 39.
