Each was an Energy Core formed from Ink Spirit Flame cells, meant to gather transmission energy and store the essence needed to strengthen their bodies as they advanced. They had many other abilities, too, which their bearers would discover in time!

In the years to come, those huge, black, triangular crystals would become a taboo image that everyone avoided discussing, yet every living being across the planes would yearn for them deep down!

The Fairies' eyes, hair, and everything else turned to blazing fire. Ordinary red flames surged from the crack-like black patterns covering their bodies! Among the most gifted, such as the mutated young Fairy Ximir and the sisters Xierjie, who were First-Level Demons, the flames had deepened beyond ordinary red.
