Exploring the Cavern

No one knew how deep the Cavern ran. The farther Er Dongsheng went, the dimmer it grew!

After another short stretch, Er Dongsheng had to conjure a small fireball to light his way!

The Cavern's stone walls were wet and slick, heavy with moisture, probably because it lay near the lake in the deep ravine. The walls were riddled with holes of every size. Now and then, strange snakes poked their heads out of the loose rock, their cold little eyes fixed on Er Dongsheng, the uninvited guest!

He ignored the little things. They had not even reached the level of Abyssal Species, and their intelligence was pitifully low. Apart from guarding against a surprise attack with their venom, Er Dongsheng thought little of them!

The real danger still lay deeper inside!!

Drip, drip...

The farther he went, the damper it became. Drops kept falling from the rock overhead, slipping down his neck and into his clothes. The chill left Er Dongsheng distinctly uncomfortable!

Deeper and deeper he went, into ever-thicker darkness. As he pressed on, more and more snakes appeared around him. Some bold ones even ignored the pressure radiating from him and lunged with cold eyes!

Bang!

Splat!

Er Dongsheng sent a bright-red snake flying. It struck a nearby rock so hard that its body burst apart, spraying red blood and entrails everywhere!

Hiss! Hiss!

Wisps of white smoke rose. Wherever the snake's blood had splashed, it instantly ate pits of different sizes into the rock!

Er Dongsheng frowned, his eyes narrowing sharply. His guard rose another notch!

"I didn't expect even its blood to be this corrosive. How on earth did a snake like this grow?"
