"Is everything ready?" Er Dongsheng sat high on the Bone Throne, lazily addressing the captains lined up below him.
"Yes, Lord Baal. Everything is ready." A portly figure stepped forward from beside the Bone Throne.
The captains beneath the Throne looked up at him in astonishment.
After only a few days apart, the Lesser Imp who served as chief steward had grown even "larger." His flesh wobbled with every step.
"Phew!"
He had taken only a few steps, yet sweat was already beading on his forehead.
Er Dongsheng watched the Lesser Imp, who seemed to be growing wider by the day, and frowned. An unreadable glint crossed his eyes.
"Sibya, it seems I need to put you through some training. Look at what you've become!" Anger edged Er Dongsheng's voice. Sibya was making him look bad!
"M-my lord... I... I..." The Lesser Imp stammered and trembled in fear. His bulk made him look almost comically harmless.
His whole body jiggled, making the sight even more ridiculous.
"Pfft!" Little Lolita, seated beside Er Dongsheng, was the first to burst out laughing. She giggled helplessly. She had known Sibya longer than almost anyone, and the two of them had been among the first to follow Er Dongsheng. Yet she was still as sweet and lovely as ever, while Sibya had grown almost as round as a ball. She could hardly believe it.
That brought back memories of the
