Entering the Ruins (Part Two)

Once the World Intestine's cleansing fluid had cleared away the foreign matter, the surrounding bronze-colored intestinal walls slowly returned to normal!

Only a few enormous bronze worms were still struggling. Many large bubbles joined forces to deal with them.

Of course, monsters still poured from deep within the tunnel, streaming into the battle outside!

It seemed the bubbles would need more time to restore this place completely.

The small, faltering bubble carrying Er Dongsheng drifted ever closer to the depths of the tunnel. The bronze hue of the walls here was darker than outside, and strange patterns resembling Runewords had even begun to appear.

It was utterly quiet. No more monsters seemed to emerge from the deepest reaches, where an oppressive atmosphere hung frozen in the air.

Er Dongsheng narrowed his eyes and studied the scene ahead.

The massive intestinal wall ended here, twisting around a bronze gateway to the Ruins that was wedged fast in its midst.

Bronze energy poured from the gateway, staining a broad stretch of the surrounding wall.

Even so, fresh flesh kept growing over the gateway, heedless of the contamination, as though intent on tearing it apart!

The bronze Rune in Er Dongsheng's hand grew hotter and shone ever brighter. This, it seemed, was the Ruins he had been looking for!

"So this Rune really can get me into the Ruins!" Er Dongsheng relaxed a little. Rather than rush inside, he cautiously surveyed his surroundings.

Besides, he still had to wait for the bubble around him to break on its own. He could not open it from within; all he could do was wait for its power to run out and the bubble to shatter!

Judging by its trembling surface, that would not take long!

Er Dongsheng looked around, marveling to himself.
