This was a deathly silent land shrouded in gloom.
In the sky and across the ground, black mist drifted everywhere, so thick it seemed almost solid.
The mist kept changing shape. One moment it became a beautiful Sea Demon, the next a powerful beast. Most often, it churned with ghastly scenes of humans dying.
Some wisps took the shape of hollow skulls and even let out piercing howls, making the demons who passed through shudder.
Others turned into all manner of seductive sights, drawing lecherous looks from the few demons whose resolve was less firm.
Most of the demons, however, were exceptionally cautious.
Something terrifying seemed to lurk within the mist. Every demon who entered activated Force-Field Protection, desperately resisting the voices and the mist as they tried to invade.
"Damn it. How did so much will of the dead gather in the Titan Ruins? How many living beings had to die for this?" One demon struggled against the emotions pressing into his mind, cursing inwardly all the while.
Whoosh—
Suddenly—
A dark shadow flashed across his vision.
It vanished in an instant.
The demon jerked his head up and searched his surroundings, but found nothing.
Was I seeing things? He rubbed his eyes and looked at the black mist growing thicker around him. A deep unease welled up inside him.
For some reason, everything suddenly fell deathly quiet, as though something terrifying was about to emerge.
"What was that just now?" Though the demon muttered that his eyes must have played tricks on him, he remained on high
