The two of them had returned from the Ruins unharmed!
It was almost unbelievable!
Of course, rumor had it that a few other Demons had survived as well: several Black-Robed Demons, the Three-Eyed Devil Lord, Frazer, and others!
They had returned too, but they had all submitted to Baal and joined the Destruction Squad!
Baal had even piloted the Cavern of Destruction into Archmond's Palace!

"Heh. You joined the Black-Robed Demon Warlock Organization before I did and even ranked second, but you were far too careless. You spent all that time around that fellow without realizing he was Archmond! You worked under Archmond too, but your powers of observation were terrible!"
