Deep in the Northern Frontier, inside an icy cavern.
The wind howled outside. Night had fallen completely, and bitter cold began to sweep across the land.
Crackle~
A small fire of burning Ice Tree branches gave off a little heat, filling the tiny cavern with a faint warmth.
Ice Trees were a plant unique to the Northern Frontier!
Despite the name, they looked more like enormous vines. They sprawled across the Northern Frontier, even growing in considerable numbers on this snowy land deep within it.
Only a little over an inch tall, they grew in dense clusters across the ground, forming strange forests of low vines.
Ice Trees contained plenty of oil. They did not give off much heat when burned, but they burned for a long time.
A small pile of branches could keep a household's fire going for an entire day, making them the main source of warmth for the Northern Frontier's poor.

Pale red flames curled upward around the skinned carcass of an Ice Giant Wolf roasting over the fire, sending out an enticing aroma.
There were two people in the cavern~
