An earthshaking upheaval unfolded in the small city.
The enormous blood-red sphere drew flesh and life energy from every living thing around it. Plant or animal, anything alive in the Wizard World turned into streams of Blood Energy that flowed toward the sphere.
"What is that...?"
The surviving Wizards gradually gathered in the air, staring in horror, at a loss for what to do.
Unlike Donnitz Academy, the Wizard Academy had somehow suffered little damage. Most of its teachers brought their students along as they hurried to join the main force of Wizards.
They still didn't understand what had happened, but that didn't stop them from keeping their students close.
Leaving the youngsters at school hardly seemed safe.
"Clear your minds. Don't let the disturbances around you affect you!"
At the Wizard Academy teacher's instruction, the young apprentices breathed out and immediately felt much better.
As long as they calmed their minds, the force drawing out their blood weakened considerably. So long as they stayed away from the blood sphere, they would be all right.
"Teacher, what exactly happened?" Emma, Isabella's friend, asked the teacher beside her, fear showing on her face.
Several teachers kept her closely guarded, giving her protection most apprentices could only dream of.
"I don't know. But Emma, have you seen Isabella?" A teacher searched anxiously around, still unable to find the girl they were supposed to protect above all others.
"No. She was gone when I woke up!"
