A vast Black Sun hung in the air.
The southern sky plunged into darkness. Wisps of demonic energy seethed and churned as the projection of a world shrouded in chaos and filled with endless lava flared into view. Everyone sensed despair, darkness, slaughter, and death—something deeper than the darkest reaches of the Universe.

Andariel and the others hid inside the doors of the golden palace. As they watched the enormous phantom of Three-Faced Demon God Mountain rise, gravity and shock entered their eyes.
"Who exactly is Diabolo?"
"So powerful, so evil. He's filled with the urge to destroy everything. What is that illusory world? Could it be where Lord Diabolo lives?"
"It seems we've pledged ourselves to someone extraordinary!"
"But my lord seems to belong to the side of evil!"
The people inside the palace exclaimed in hushed voices, finding it harder and harder to believe what they saw.
Wreathed in lightning, Diabolo stood motionless atop the phantom peak. Demon God Mountain rose higher and higher until it was almost level with Heaven Mountain.
Beneath the phantom mountain lay a seething world that swirled like a vortex.
Endless lava burned, burst, and surged through it, racing wherever it pleased.
A massive dragon thousands of meters long could be glimpsed roaring at the sky. Its voice seemed to carry out from the phantom world.
An even larger toad rolled through the lava. Anyone who met its eyes felt as though they were being burned.
