A vast surge of Holy Light erupted, striking the Abyssal Will, which made no attempt to dodge.
Light blazed in every direction, and the surrounding space-time trembled.
Fortunately, the Lord of Elements had targeted the Abyssal Will. That was the only reason Diabolo survived.
Even so, the Holy Light spreading around him left him in a sorry state. He fled deep into space-time and did not dare show himself.

"The fourteenth portal—the Gate of Destruction! How? How could it have opened?"
"Damn you, Abyssal Will! You tricked me!"
Abaddon's furious roars rang out again and again.
Diabolo looked over. Where the Holy Light had struck, a half-open portal had appeared. Half of an illusory key floated before it. The broken Scarlet Key shook violently, giving off waves of destructive energy as it gradually shattered under the Holy Light's assault.
"No. How is this possible?"
Abaddon still seemed unable to believe it.

The broken Scarlet Key finally shattered. The red portal, already half-open, swung fully open with a thunderous crash. The runes of the Lord of Destruction carved upon it faded into nothingness, and under Diabolo and Abaddon's gaze, the entire portal dissolved inch by inch.
"No!"
Abaddon's eyes nearly burst from their sockets. He had never imagined the Abyssal Will would use him to open the Gate of Destruction completely with Holy Light.
"How? How was the Gate of Destruction already half-open? Where did that half-key come from? Aaargh, damn it!" Abaddon's enormous body shook within the sphere of light. With a rumble, it seemed all nine heads were about to force their way out. An unfathomable pressure spread from within.
Was Abaddon about to emerge?
