Baal was certain that whatever drew him from within the dome of strange energy runes, deep in the darkness, had something to do with Destruction. But what was the Destruction Nest?

Baal frowned.

Rumble!

A jet of black fire, dark beyond measure, erupted from the center of the vast dome. The aura of destruction within it was savage beyond compare, seemingly purer than Baal's own, closer to destruction in its truest form.

"Awooo!"

A beastlike roar burst from the dome, shrill and piercing. It cut straight through the soul, as though it could tear a person apart.

"What the hell is in there?"

Baal withdrew deeper into time and space, his face turning pale. The Flame of Destruction inside him was trembling faintly, seemingly excited and afraid at once.

Devour. Devour. Devour!

An urge to devour surged uncontrollably from the depths of his heart, as though engraved upon his soul. No matter how hard Baal tried, he could not suppress it.

Gradually, he began to lose control of his body. It wanted to enter the dome at once and devour whatever lay inside—or even merge with it!

"Damn it!"

Baal's expression changed drastically. He summoned the power of Fear and Ruin in the void and forcibly suppressed his body's raging urges.

This can't go on, or else...

Baal's gaze turned cold. Through the void, he looked at the seemingly unconcerned Undead Overlord and hardened his resolve.

He had to seize that mysterious Ancient Lamp Beacon and get inside as soon as possible. If a few more beastly roars struck him like that, Baal would be unable to resist at all. Whatever lurked within the dome deep in the darkness seemed to counter his power of destruction, even robbing him of control over his movements.
