Background / History

During the Third Shinobi World War, the Uchiha are one of Konoha’s core military clans. Their members serve across major fronts, and their Fire Release and Sharingan make them valuable battlefield combatants despite the heavy losses suffered by the village. 1 32

The clan occupies a central and prestigious district in Konoha during the war. Although commonly regarded as proud and aloof, its members show strong affection and mutual support within the clan; Tekka Uchiha’s eager return to his mother particularly changes Goenji’s perception of them. 13

Fugaku Uchiha supports the advancement of promising clansmen. He grants Goenji B-rank access to the clan archives, recognizes his Three-Tomoe Sharingan as high-level clan combat strength, and states that a future Jonin may apply to learn a forbidden technique for reserve use. 14

The clan’s standing becomes politically precarious when Kakashi retains Obito’s donated Sharingan. Several elders argue that the eye must be reclaimed, while Goenji argues that doing so would betray Obito’s final wish, damage the clan’s reputation, and weaken Konoha’s battlefield strength. The elders ultimately defer action pending consultation with the Third Hokage. 88 89

After the war, the Uchiha Police Force is exempt from front-line deployment, allowing Goenji to focus on patrols, sealing research, and clan affairs. The clan also investigates an unidentified Sharingan user who attacks Minato, but cannot identify the culprit and is placed under surveillance amid Danzō’s attempts to stir suspicion against it. 91 92 127

The clan survives into the Ninja Alliance era. Sasuke, Orena, and other younger Uchiha grow up knowing the Sharingan as a rare talent associated with powerful emotional stimulation. 159 161

Sharingan

The Sharingan is the Uchiha’s defining kekkei genkai. A Three-Tomoe Sharingan grants exceptional dynamic vision, detailed chakra perception, and the ability to analyze or reproduce the principles behind an opponent’s movements and techniques. 1

• It allows users to perceive movements in extreme detail and observe chakra circulation. 1
• It enhances genjutsu and weapon control, including precision shuriken manipulation. 4

Fire Release is the clan’s foremost documented elemental specialty. The clan archives contain extensive research into combustion, heat, explosive force, shape transformation, and the tactical integration of fire with ninja tools. 16
