Time passed swiftly as everyone made their preparations.
The next day, the fruit on the tree grew increasingly red, nearing maturity. Some were already growing restless, their gazes shifting between the fruit tree and the competitors around them.
Golden Horn sensed the time. There were roughly thirty hours left before his incarnation would finish gestating, and he felt somewhat anxious. I hope it makes it in time. Otherwise, once the battle starts, I'll have no choice but to stay far away.
Powerful figures continued to gather around them. Many experts from afar had noticed the anomaly here and rushed over, loosely forming a massive circle that surrounded the fruit tree and the Void Beast layer upon layer. Golden Horn made a rough count and found that there were actually several hundred of them. Most were Stellar level, but there were also more than ten Universe-level experts, each with a deep, unfathomable aura as they warily watched one another.
Golden Horn and Giant Axe both changed expressions slightly. There were simply too many powerful figures. Even though they stood among the best at the Stellar level, neither dared claim they could emerge unscathed from a melee involving so many people—especially with so many Universe-level experts watching like tigers stalking prey.
Time ticked away. There was one hour left until his first incarnation finished gestating, while the fragrance of the fruit had already drifted through the air, tugging at every expert's nerves. More and more people could no longer hold themselves back and began pressing forward.
Giant Axe glanced at Golden Horn and asked in a low voice, "Should we move closer? Otherwise, we might not even get a sip of the soup."
Golden Horn shook his head. "Wait a little longer."
Though Giant Axe did not understand, he did not ask further.
Golden Horn raised his gaze toward the fruit tree. The fruit was nearly completely red. He counted roughly three hundred of them—far more than any fruit tree they had seen before. Ordinary small trees only bore a few fruits, and those fruits were nowhere near as large as these.
Suddenly, Golden Horn's gaze sharpened.
He spotted a familiar figure: the Sirius clan Universe-level expert who had chased him before was appearing from another direction.
Hmph. Golden Horn snorted inwardly. Once my incarnation is fully gestated, I'll make sure you stay here for good this time.
The hour quickly came to an end. Within his inner world, the giant egg slowly cracked open, and Golden Horn watched excitedly as his incarnation gradually stepped out of the shell.
Their four eyes met, and in that instant, Golden Horn felt as though he were staring at himself in a mirror.
Two bodies, one consciousness. Their memories were shared, their thoughts synchronized. The sensation was wondrous beyond measure, as though he existed in two places at once. Their perspectives overlapped, yet there was no confusion.
Golden Horn focused his attention on the incarnation. Its outward appearance was almost identical to the Void Beast outside: silver-white all over, with a pair of wings on its back and a slender body. Its realm was the same as his main body's, Stellar level fifth rank. Golden Horn searched through its mind, only to discover that the incarnation had no inherited memories.
He then sensed the incarnation's physical strength and immediately sucked in a breath of cold air!
Its initial genetic level was three hundred times!
Golden Horn was utterly shocked. It was actually this powerful?
An ordinary human's genetic level was one. The Golden Horned Beast's innate tenfold level was already considered a peak bloodline, yet this Void Beast incarnation possessed a level as high as three hundred times. This meant that at the same realm, its base combat strength was thirty times that of Golden Horn's main body!
Golden Horn forcibly suppressed his excitement and circulated the origin energy within the incarnation's body. Suddenly, he felt an incomparably close affinity with the surrounding space, as though the entire world had opened its arms to him. His body felt impossibly light, as if he could rise with the wind at any moment.
He tried making a slight movement along the spatial fluctuations he sensed. His figure instantly vanished, then reappeared several hundred meters away.
Golden Horn let out a delighted roar. Then he saw the incarnation flickering in and out of existence within his inner world, its movements ghostly and its speed incredibly fast, as if it were teleporting.
No wonder its genetic level was so high. Its affinity with space was simply too great. The Void Beast bloodline truly defied the heavens. He could also clearly sense that the inner world somewhat restricted its performance. He wondered how far it could teleport in a single jump outside.
Finally, he examined the incarnation's vitality. Its life force was incredibly vigorous. He used the broken sword he had picked up earlier to cut a wound into it. Silver light flickered over the wound, which healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"The Void Beast bloodline truly lives up to its reputation."
With the incarnation's help, the incarnation and main body working together would not only greatly increase his ability to survive, but might even allow him to plan to seize more fruit.
Golden Horn chuckled.
Beside him, Giant Axe looked over strangely, unable to understand why this giant beast was grinning foolishly. Had it made progress in its cultivation?
Golden Horn said to Giant Axe, "Let's go. It's time to take a look."
When they drew closer, they found that things were clearly different from the last time powerful figures had gathered. This time, many people had obviously formed groups, gathering in clusters of three or five. Dozens had even gathered around the Universe-level experts, clearly forming alliances in advance.
When the fruit finally ripened and turned completely red, someone shouted, "Kill!"
At almost the same instant, everyone attacked together. Their strikes poured down like a torrential rain toward the Void Beast beneath the tree!
But just as before, it vanished in an instant, and all the attacks missed. Then it appeared behind the crowd, its silver-white claws tearing through the air as it instantly killed a Stellar-level expert of another race!
Everyone was shocked. The aura of the fallen expert was clearly stronger than those who had previously died at the Void Beast's hands.
Yet no one retreated. It might be powerful, but it was alone. There were hundreds of experts present. Even a battle of attrition could wear it to death!
The instant the Void Beast left the base of the tree, people immediately rushed forward to pick the fruit!
The Void Beast flew into a rage and unleashed Myriad Incarnations again. In an instant, one became two, two became four, and the area beneath the tree was densely filled with its figures. Then it launched a countercharge at the surrounding experts!
Although its movement technique was ghostly and others could not easily strike it, its attack power was not strong enough. It remained only at the Stellar level and could not kill those Universe-level experts in a single blow.
Led by more than ten Universe-level experts, the crowd still fought its way to the base of the tree.
Countless hands stretched toward the branches, frantically plucking the fruit.
Golden Horn and Giant Axe also quietly snatched five fruits amid the chaos.
Meanwhile, a large number of the Void Beast's incarnations disappeared. In just a short time, it had killed dozens of Stellar-level experts by itself, but in the end, all its incarnations vanished, leaving only its main body.
Its speed visibly declined, and its aura began to weaken.
But no one deliberately tried to kill it. As long as it did not interfere with everyone picking the fruit, that was enough.
Soon, all the fruit had been picked, but experts from the outskirts were still charging inward, blocking the way out.
When they saw that there was no fruit left inside, they decisively began attacking those who had already obtained fruit.
A chaotic battle erupted. Everyone was an enemy. Some who had already obtained fruit did not hurry to leave, instead seeking to gain even more.
The smell of blood in the air grew heavier and heavier, while the ripples from colliding energies spread far into the distance.
