Preparing to Run

Jason: (._.)

Meng Zu: (゜一゜)

Before transmigrating, Meng Zu rarely watched horror movies. It definitely was not because he was timid; he simply did not like them. Although he had never watched Friday the 13th, he still knew something about this horror franchise, hailed as the longest-running in film history.

Seeing Jason now left Meng Zu somewhat dumbfounded. He had not expected that not only the John Wick series, but Friday the 13th had also become part of this world. What kind of Marvel Cinematic Universe was this?

Bang!

The multifunctional ammunition activated. Meng Zu raised his gun and shot Jason in the head. The Holy Light Bullet struck the eye socket of the hockey mask, and a burst of filthy blood exploded. Jason's massive body swayed twice before crashing to the ground.

Rather than inspect Jason, Meng Zu seized the chance to run toward Sam and the other three. He remembered that Jason possessed an immortal body. That shot should not have been enough to kill him.

Meng Zu shouted at the four people who were still vomiting violently, "Stop throwing up! Get in the car, we're getting out of here!"

Meng Zu had just shot Jamie and Lisa in the head right in front of Sam and the others, one bullet each. When had these four students ever witnessed something so intense? They had seen heads explode at close range. Though the targets were not human, they looked very much like humans. The immense mental shock made their stomachs cramp, and they immediately bent over and vomited.

"M-Mr. Meng Zu, behind you!" Sam wiped his mouth, then looked up and pointed behind Meng Zu with a terrified expression.

Meng Zu turned around and saw Jason standing back up, completely unharmed. Holding his machete, Jason charged toward him. Mary Shaw had also recovered and was slowly floating over through the air.

"Damn!"

Bang! Bang!

Meng Zu promptly blew both their heads apart with two shots. The two of them immediately collapsed to the ground again.

"Anna, hurry up and start the car!" Meng Zu shouted at Anna without looking back.

Meng Zu carefully examined Jason and Mary Shaw's bodies. He saw black mist emerge from them and flow into their heads, rushing toward the two Holy Light Bullets. Before long, the glowing Holy Light Bullets reverted to ordinary bullets.

The black mist seemed alive. It wrapped around the bullets in their heads and forced them out. The huge holes in their heads rapidly healed, and even Jason's shattered hockey mask simultaneously returned to normal.

Bang! Bang!

Before the two could finish recovering, Meng Zu used another two Holy Light Bullets to blow their heads apart. At that moment, Anna successfully started the car.

Meng Zu immediately ran to the car and squeezed Anna into the passenger seat. He spun the steering wheel, floored the gas, and drove back onto the road.

Meng Zu increased the speed and warned the four of them, "Fasten your seatbelts. I'm speeding up."

What they had just experienced had left Sam and the others pale and listless. Anna looked at Meng Zu from the passenger seat and asked hoarsely, "Mr. Meng Zu, what were those things?"

Meng Zu pulled out a little blue bottle and drank it. "Hell if I know what those things were. I can't deal with them anyway. The best thing to do now is get as far away from them as possible."

He had used a full eight Holy Light Bullets just now, leaving him with only 40 energy points. That made Meng Zu feel very insecure. They still had not escaped danger, so it would be better to replenish his energy. If something like Jason appeared again and he ran out of energy in the middle of a fight, he would be in serious trouble.

"Mr. Meng Zu, those two can come back from the dead. What if they set their sights on us and chase after us?" Brian asked from the back seat.

"It'll be fine. They can't catch up to the car. Once we reach Sault Ste. Marie, I remember there being a church there. We'll tell them what happened and have them contact the church. The church will send someone to take care of those two."

Screech!!!

Meng Zu suddenly slammed on the brakes, throwing Sam and the others forward. Fortunately, all four had their seatbelts fastened, or they would have ended up with huge bumps on their heads.

Damn it, did I just jinx myself?

Three dark figures appeared not far ahead of the car. Two of them were Jason and Mary Shaw. The third was an unfamiliar old woman. Though she looked no different from an ordinary person, anyone walking together with Jason and Mary Shaw had to be the same kind of thing.

Anna saw Jason and Mary Shaw, and her face instantly filled with terror. "Mr. Meng Zu, what's going on? How did they catch up with us?"

Meng Zu did not answer. He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car, ordering the four of them, "Stay in the car. Don't get out."

A Beretta appeared in his hand. He raised it and fired three Holy Light Bullets at the trio, but the black mist suddenly blocked them. The bullets pierced through the mist, yet only left small holes in the three heads.

The three merely swayed backward. The Holy Light Bullets reverted to normal bullets, were forced out by the black mist, and fell to the ground. The wounds on their foreheads rapidly healed.

Meng Zu's expression darkened. The Holy Light Bullets were no longer very effective. While they were still recovering, he took out a grenade and threw it at them.

Boom!

The grenade exploded, blasting all three away. Yet there were no additional wounds on their bodies. The black mist had blocked every fragment from the grenade.

"If only there were something like Holy Light Grenades!"

The three climbed back up. Jason started charging toward Meng Zu. Meng Zu took out another grenade and pulled the pin, silently counting the time. Then he suddenly fired a Holy Light Bullet at Jason's head while throwing the grenade at it. Jason's head immediately exploded.

The first Holy Light Bullet pierced through the black mist. Following the bullet's trajectory, the grenade avoided the surrounding mist and reached the wound created by the Holy Light Bullet. When it exploded, it blew Jason's head to pieces.

Just as Meng Zu saw that it had worked and was about to relax, the old woman began chanting an obscure spell. A large amount of black mist surged from her hands and enveloped Jason's entire body.

Bang bang bang!!!

So the old woman was controlling the black mist. Without a second thought, Meng Zu used the same tactic. He fired a Holy Light Bullet at her and threw a grenade at the same time. If he took her out first, things would become much easier.

Boom!

But a black magic circle appeared before the old woman, blocking both the Holy Light Bullet and the grenade.

"Mrs. Voorhees, I told you so. This man is excellent material," Mary Shaw said to the old woman with a smile.

"Indeed. His soul will make the finest Soulstone." Mrs. Voorhees stared greedily at Meng Zu.

"Just as we agreed before, their bodies are mine, and their souls are yours. I can hardly wait to see the perfect puppet he will become." Mary Shaw stared at Meng Zu with a sinister expression.

The black mist surrounding Jason dispersed, and his head returned to normal. Jason stood up from the ground once more. Meng Zu understood that as long as Mrs. Voorhees was here, he would not be able to deal with them even if he exhausted all his energy.

"Looks like I'll have to teleport."

After hearing Mary Shaw and Mrs. Voorhees's conversation, Meng Zu could only abandon this mission. Otherwise, if they caught him, his fate would surely be miserable.

"Sam, Anna, Brian, Amy, I'm sorry," Meng Zu silently said to himself. He took out the last little blue bottle and drank it. His energy recovered to 55 points, enough to activate the teleportation skill.

Suddenly, a huge ring of light crackling with sparks formed between Meng Zu and Jason. An old man with a long white beard and a crew-cut fat man stepped out of it.
