Setting Out to Find Zeraora

Early the next morning, Rockruff opened its eyes just as the sun rose above the sea.

It gazed toward the familiar sunrise, then leaped out of the tree hollow. Step by step, it climbed to the mountaintop and stood looking out over the ocean.

"Grrr..."

After a while, Rockruff's stomach growled. It glanced down, then headed back down the mountain, searching the forest for something to eat.

But after a long search, it found only one small Berry.

Rockruff ate the Berry and decided to look elsewhere.

Before leaving, it glanced back toward the school.

It remembered that the human from last night had said he would come see it today.

But...

He still hadn't come. He had probably forgotten, hadn't he?

Rockruff silently looked away. Just as it lifted a paw to leave, familiar footsteps sounded behind it.

Its ears pricked up at once.

The footsteps drew closer. Rockruff turned, stunned, and saw the human from yesterday arriving with a piping-hot breakfast.

"Sorry, I slept in a little." Hu Yang set the food in front of Rockruff and smiled. "Here, it's freshly made. Eat up!"

The tempting smell reached Rockruff's nose, making its mouth water despite itself.

Hu Yang held a warm piece of ham to Rockruff's mouth. "Want me to feed you?"

Rockruff: "..."

Perhaps sensing the human's feelings, Rockruff didn't refuse him as it had at first. Instead, it gave a polite bark.

"Woof!"

Hu Yang smiled. "Go on, eat!"

Only then did Rockruff lower its head and begin eating from the dish.

Hu Yang sat beside it and watched. Rockruff buried its face in the food bowl, glancing up at him now and then.

The wariness from their first meeting was gone from its eyes.
