This left Kino unusually excited. He carefully composed a text message and sent it over.

Early the next morning, Kino nervously lit up his phone. Aside from a few promotional messages, there was nothing from the young lady, and he could not help feeling a little disappointed.

All night long, Maria Hill had been considering one thing: what role exactly should she play? S.H.I.E.L.D. had never had a precedent for a field agent staying at an "enhanced individual's" side to monitor him.

So she wisely made a decision. She did not install surveillance cameras in the three-story building, apart from the one she carried on her.

While Kino was still asleep, she had already begun making breakfast. But by the time she finished, he still had not come downstairs.

She headed toward the top floor. Remembering last night's "warning," she decided to remain at the stairway between the second and third floors. Yet the moment she stepped onto the first stair, it was as though she had collided with something, and a soft force bounced her away.

Then a Kino resembling a holographic projection floated out.

"Oh? Has the beautiful Miss Hill finally decided to become my 'friend with benefits'? Then it seems I can prepare a candlelit dinner with red wine tonight."

He still wore that smugly punchable expression!

"Fine, I'll stop teasing you! This handsome guy has already headed to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Ha, I'm going to challenge the place!"

Then the image vanished with a whoosh!

Maria Hill's expression changed drastically. As she raced downstairs, she rapidly pressed the director's communicator. "Director, something terrible has happened! Kino is heading toward Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters!"

"What?" On the Helicarrier, Nick Fury's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "What is he doing there?"

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters was a Mutant school hidden among human society. Others might not know, but how could he not? It was just that Professor X, Charles, had always been a law-abiding citizen. He was merely protecting Mutants—or rather... protecting ordinary humans from being harmed by Mutants.

Although the two sides had different philosophies, their essence was the same. Furthermore, the Mutant school was temporarily under S.H.I.E.L.D.'s surveillance, so Nick Fury had always taken a hands-off approach toward Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Besides, they were all gathered in one place. If he truly wanted to wipe them out, a single missile could kill a large number of Mutants.

"His intentions are obviously hostile, and I don't know how long ago he left. I'm heading there now!" Maria Hill said urgently.

"But I haven't received any reports of trouble at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Satellite surveillance also shows no sign of damage at the school," Nick Fury said, puzzled.

He could not possibly be going there for tea, could he?
